Therapists will learn to teach parents to apply Child-Centered Play Therapy skills during special play times with their own children. The Child-Parent Relationship Therapy script and lesson plan, guide therapists on not only teaching these skills to parents, but also how to supervise parents’ application of these skills. Therapists will also learn how to make modifications to the typical lesson plans to meet the needs of many different populations.
Learning Objectives:
1. Recognize different group dynamics in a CPRT group and facilitate processing of learning material
2. Describe the structure and recommended space for CPRT caregiver-child play sessions
3. Identify recommended toys for special playtimes and explain the purpose of different toys
4. Demonstrate basic play therapy skills to parents.
5. Identify modifications of the CPRT script for toddlers, preadolescents, adoptive families, and teachers.
6. Demonstrate ability to provide feedback of caregiver-child play sessions
7. Identify “Rules of Thumb” to facilitate learning for group participants
8. Understand the role of brain development in changes in child behaviors
This is a non-contact online CE exam. The purchase of this product does not include a book. In order to complete the exam, it is required to read the book ""Child Parent Relationship Training (CPRT): A 10-Session Filial Therapy Model". If you already have the book associated with this CE exam, you can take this exam without purchasing the book again. If you do not have the book, you can purchase it in the Publications section of our products.
After reading the book, you will complete a 109 question multiple choice exam. 18 non-contact continuing education units will be awarded upon achieving 80% pass rate on exam.
