Unique, hands-on, dynamic training opportunity for:

  • Supervised clinical hours
  • Educational requirement towards certification
  • Intensive training in the application of CCPT!
  • All supervisors are experienced PhD level Registered Play Therapists and Certified Child-Centered Play Therapists.

Are you working towards becoming a Certified Child-Centered Play Therapist?

Are you interested in a unique training opportunity to maximize your time, money, and experience in your journey towards certification?

Come join us for an intensive supervised play therapy experience including four days of intense and dynamic training through instruction, demonstrations, and supervised experiences in individual child-centered play therapy using two-way mirrors, video recording, and live supervision.

Participants will explore how to integrate child-centered play therapy into their play therapy practice.

In cohort groups of three play therapists to one supervisor, participants will conduct a minimum of 6 play therapy sessions over the four-day training, observe a minimum of 12 play therapy sessions conducted by their cohorts, and participate in supervision and feedback sessions as a cohort.

Participants will earn a total of 32 hours of Continuing Education contact credit hours. For the purpose of Criteria Verification Forms for RPT Credentialing Applications, this training covers: 17 hours of Skills & Methods, 10 hours of Seminal or Historically Significant Theories, 4 hours of Special Topics, and 1 hour of Culture and Social Diversity.

By attending the 4-day CPT Intensive Supervision experience, you will fulfill a portion of your educational requirements AND supervised clinical experience hours at the same time for CCPT Certification!

What does that mean?
Attending this 4-day Intensive Supervision experience will take place of attending the 2.5-day CCPT 102 training and would reduce the supervised clinical experience requirement to become a Certified CCPT from 30 sessions and 15 hours of supervision to 25 sessions and 10 hours of supervision.

Learning Objectives:

  • Participants will be able to describe how child development impacts play therapy.
  • Participants will be able to distinguish between play behaviors and play themes.
  • Participants will be able to demonstrate when and how to use limit-setting and choice giving from a child-centered perspective.
  • Participants will be able to demonstrate child-centered play therapy skills and attitudes.
  • Participants will be able to cite and access research findings on the effectiveness of CCPT.
  • Participants will be able to articulate the change process for various presenting problems.
  • Participants will be able to integrate feedback into practice of CCPT.
