In 1988, Dr. Garry Landreth established the Center for Play Therapy (CPT), which has grown to become the largest play therapy research and training program in the world. In recognition of his substantial contributions to the field of play therapy, we established the Garry Landreth Endowed Play Therapy Research Library to ensure that Dr. Landreth’s vision continues. The library fund enables the Landreth Library to continue to grow and provide the most current information on play therapy research, interventions, and methodology to professionals. In this way, Dr. Landreth’s legacy continues to impact the lives of millions of children for years to come. Furthermore, CPT is able to use the interest earned on this endowment to offer scholarships to play therapy students in Dr. Landreth’s name.

Donors who contribute $1000 or more are listed on a large plaque titled, “Friends of the Garry Landreth Play Therapy Research Library,” displayed in the library housed within the UNT Center for Play Therapy.  Additionally, anyone who contributes $1,000 or more will be recognized in the UNT College of Education Dean’s Leadership Society. If you would like to make a donation following link and make your donation online: https://development.unt.edu/givenow/givenow_gen.php.

*For online donation, please specify the designation on "Other Area" as Garry Landreth Research Library.

Please note that anyone who has donated in the past can make an additional donation to total $1,000 and have your name listed on the plaque.

We hope you will help us this goal of continuing to honor Dr. Landreth’s significant contributions to the field of play therapy in this meaningful way.
