Center for Play Therapy - At the University of North Texas

Intensive Supervised Play Therapy Experience
Monday-Thursday, July 13-16
(9:00 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.)

The four days of intense and dynamic training includes instruction, demonstrations, and supervised experiences in individual and group child-centered play therapy using two-way mirrors, videotapes, and live supervision. In cohort groups of three play therapists to one supervisor, participants conduct a minimum of 6 play therapy sessions over the four-day training, observe a minimum of 12 play therapy sessions conducted by their cohorts, and participate in supervision and feedback sessions as a cohort. Utilizing a developmental perspective, participants will explore how to integrate child-centered play therapy into their play therapy practice. Participants will earn a total of 32 hours of Continuing Education.

Prerequisites: Participants must have prior experience in play therapy. Please call or email the Center for Play Therapy for an application form. Applications are due April 15, 2009. Space is limited; only 12 participants will be accepted. The fee for the four day experience is $750, due upon acceptance to program. Note: Participants selected for this 4-day workshop are unable to attend the July 13 workshop by Dr. Armstrong.
