Dr. Regine Chung, LMHC, RPT , RP, CAS, is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Niagara University in Lewiston, NY. She earned her Ph.D. in Counselor Education from the University of North Texas, specializing in play therapy and multicultural counseling. Dr. Chung has presented at international, regional, and local play therapy conferences in the U.S. and is an approved trainer and supervisor by the Center for Play Therapy at UNT. While she provides training and supervision, certification in Child-Centered Play Therapy, Child-Centered Group Play Therapy, and Child-Parent Relationship Therapy is granted by the Center for Play Therapy. Dr. Chung has extensive clinical and supervisory experience working with clients across the lifespan and with a range of neurodevelopmental needs. As the former Assistant Director of Center for Play Therapy, she provided play therapy services in various settings, including university community clinics, a domestic violence agency, and general and special education environments. She currently provides play therapy, parent consultation, and clinical supervision in private practice. Dr. Chung is the author of several peer-reviewed articles and book chapters on multicultural issues and play therapy. Her play therapy research has received multiple accolades, including the Association of Child and Adolescent Counseling Research Grant, the Dan E. Homeyer Play Therapy Research Grant Award, and the Association for Play Therapy Student Research Award. Her current research focuses on multicultural issues in counseling, play therapy, neurodiversity, and immigrant populations, aiming to improve treatment effectiveness and accessibility.

CCPT 102 Child-Centered Play Therapy Practice & Application in Cantonese
This training covers: understanding child development, the CCPT process (relational disruptions and enacting conditions), themes in CCPT, advanced limit-setting, specific presenting problems/populations, parent consultation, advocacy, general research findings, and opportunities to apply and practice CCPT skills. The workshop includes a micro-practicum session and requires each participant to conduct and record a CCPT session with a child aged 3–10 before the workshop.
This is a three-day, advanced training on the practice and application of Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT). This intensive training builds upon foundational CCPT skills by addressing advanced topics in CCPT. Participants must have completed CCPT 101 or an equivalent course to register.
Learning Objectives
- Describe how child development impacts play therapy.
- Distinguish between play behaviors and play themes.
- Demonstrate when and how to use limit-setting and choice-giving from a child-centered perspective.
- Demonstrate CCPT skills and attitudes.
- Cite and access research findings on the effectiveness of CCPT.
- Articulate the change process for various presenting problems.
- Integrate feedback into their CCPT practice.

Payment, Cancellation & Refund
This training is hosted by a certified trainer and sponsored by the UNT Center for Play Therapy (CPT). Payment will be made directly to the trainer. The trainer is responsible for handling all communications with CPT regarding registration, participants’ records and evaluations, and the issuance of Continuing Education (CE) certificates. Participants should direct any inquiries about these matters to the trainer. Requests for registration cancellations and refunds must be emailed to Dr. Regine Chung in writing. The training fee, minus a $50 USD/ $400 HKD administrative fee, will be refunded only if the request is postmarked by May 9, 2025. Dr. Regine Chung reserves the right to cancel this conference in the event of unforeseen circumstances. If such an event occurs, Dr. Chung will notify registrants before the conference and will issue a full refund for registration, workshop, and continuing education fees.
